Meet Mary Kay Emmrich -
I am a dedicated Library professional with proven performance as an active Librarian in management, leadership and communication in both libraries and business. I am detail-oriented in daily operations, problem-solving and planning. I have established success in creating and implementing public programs and staff training aimed at skills development. Now entering passive Librarianship, I have chosen to advocate and consult in Library Technical Services, with focus on implementing Evergreen open-source software.
What or who is Gypsy Cataloguing?
Gypsy Cataloguing a small consulting company offering hands-on support and recommendations for libraries that operate in Evergreen. Evergreen is an open-source integrated library system (ILS) originally designed and utilized by Georgina PINES.
Owner Mary K. Emmrich supervised the migration of a 3-branch library system into Evergreen, learning new skills and becoming a strong advocate for shared ILS consortia. Emmrich retired from "active librarianship" in 2023, contracting to Missouri Evergreen Consortium MEC) as a Migration Specialist.

Emmrich has consulted within Indiana Evergreen libraries to support migration and perform original and copy cataloguing. She supports migrating public libraries in Missouri by liaising between library staff and Equinox staff during migration. Emmrich provides practical experience and procedural knowledge to Missouri Evergreen's newest members.
